PyMEL 1.0

PyMEL makes python scripting with Maya work the way it should. Its intuitive design and user-friendly features have already garnered a huge user base, from students writing their first python scripts to many of the most respected studios in the visual effects and animation industries. It is rapidly becoming the de-facto, must-have module for working with python in Maya.

PyMEL was started here at Luma Pictures and we're still the primary driving force behind its development. It is an open-source project, which means it is free to download and use, and it is open for others to contribute to as well. At a time when most studios prohibit their employees from such open contributions, PyMEL is a testament to Luma's un-corporate culture and the studio's technical talent.
