Responsibilities

  • polygonal modeling of organic creatures/objects/terrains/ from photo reference
  • optimization of UV's for maximum efficiency
  • develop multilayered photo-real textures for use in multi-pass rendering

Qualifications

  • artist must be well versed with Maya and Z-Brush skills are a plus
  • artist must have an understanding of pipeline based productions and multi-pass rendering methods
  • artist must submit show reel demonstrating their ability to model and texture photo-real creatures, characters or environments

Effects TD

Responsibilities

  • light and render FX passes for specific shots using developed FX rigs
  • develop rigs/techniques to implement and optimize approved looks
  • produce look tests based on provided reference materials
  • creation of tools and scripts to facilitate workflow

Qualifications

  • artist should be familiar with more than one of the following applications:
      Houdini
      Realflow
      Krakatoa
      Fume
  • python scripting experience is a plus
  • understanding multi pass 3D compositing is a plus

Jr Lighting Artist

Responsibilities

  • lighting look development for integration of CG elements into Live Action
  • lighting look development for full CG shots
  • creation of tools and scripts to facilitate workflow
  • develop methodologies for reduction of render time and improving quality of results

Qualifications

  • artist must know Maya and MentalRay extremely well
  • understanding multi pass 3D compositing required
  • knowledge of Renderman or Air a plus

Linux System Administrator/ Developer

Responsibilities

  • the ideal candidate will do everything necessary to ensure that artists have a stable and user-friendly operating system that meets their needs
  • maintain a stable and user-friendly Linux distribution
  • address issues such as pen/tablet glitches and graphics performance
  • ensure library compatibility with required applications
  • write command-line tools using Python for both administrators and artists
  • compile open-source software
  • troubleshoot hardware and software issues on user workstations
  • create Python scripts for production needs

Qualifications

  • must be proactive and have good problem solving skills
  • ability to learn quickly
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • digital paintings of photo realistic environments based on concept art and photo reference
  • model environments and props for UV texturing
  • set up scenes for camera projection
  • develop multilayered photo-real textures for use in multi-pass rendering

Qualifications

  • well versed with Maya and Photoshop
  • Z-Brush, Mudbox or Bodypaint skills are a plus
  • have a solid understanding of VFX production pipelines and multi-pass rendering methods
  • demonstrated ability to create seamless photo-real environments
  • excellent written and verbal skills are key
  • relocation assistance may be available subject to negotiation

Tracking/Matchmove Lead

Responsibilities

  • work with animation and modeling departments to ensure accurate camera track
  • problem solve and predict potential problems related to scene setup and continuity
  • accurately reconstruct 3D geometry based on photographs

Qualifications

  • mastery of core 3D principles rotation, translation, scale, gimbal lock
  • thorough understanding of 3D camera principles lenses, distortion, parallax, camera projection, overscan, cornerpins
  • artist must be well versed with Maya, Boujou, Matchmover, Syntheyes, PFTrack or other tracking software
  • artists must be able to take direction and work in a team oriented environment, great communication skills are a must
